Classroom Environment
Student teacher/candidate establishes and maintains a purposeful and equitable environment for learning, in which students feel safe, valued, and respected, by instituting routines and setting clear expectations for student behavior.
I included my Bulletin Board in this category because it shows that I established and maintained an environment in the classroom that was purposeful for learning. I did my Bulletin Board about clouds because I was teaching a lesson on clouds to the student. I actually made it interactive by having the students watch my presentation and when I talked about a type of cloud I had a volunteer come up and staple the name of the cloud below the respective cloud on the board. This Bulletin Board helped the students throughout the unit because whenever they were thinking about the name of a cloud and couldn't remember they would look over at the board. Science now is all about finding evidence and not about memorization. So using the resources in the classroom helped them become better students of science.
